Machinima Outline

Outline for Machinima Movie

The Movie on the Little Brother Remix Subliminal Religion.

An image of a child comes into the screen. He is a in a school uniform. Wearing a blue collared shirt and black pants with black shoes. He goes to class and teacher takes attendance. The teacher then tells the class to stand up and form a single file outside the class. The students follow the instructions. Then they are told to face the flag on Center Park of the school. They put their right hand on their chest and recite the national anthem. The school national banner is raised along with the flag of the school. The school uses a cross with the inscription: IN GOD WE TRUST.

Several Weeks After: the kid is playing with some other kids. Much like the other kids, he is lean, strong, chubby yet confident. He is now enrolled in a Catholic High school. He seems to be adjusting despite the fact that he is Muslim.

The kid and his friends are playing with toys. Then one of the kid’s friends pulls out an electronic toy. The rest huddle around this one kid. The boy approaches them but is suddenly arrested. One of the kids in the huddle stands. He says, “Stop there, No Muslims Allowed.” The kid has an expressionless face. He is hurt inside yet his face does not show it. He contemplates and looks helpless at the same time. He looks for an adult to mediate the situation yet cannot find one. He circles around the group staring intently and carefully at the faces of the children and wonders what had just happened.

After several years, the kid is in High School. He is now identified as Abou Tarek (name is tentative and is subject to change). He is still in a Catholic High School. He is still receiving an education from a Catholic High School. He seems to harbor no grudge or guilt from what had happened. He has many friends that are Christian and he seems to be a popular person in his School.

He is walking with other students wearing their uniforms. They form a single file. One by one they enter the church. As they enter, a hymn is sang by the choir, students, teachers, and priests who were already situated. The voices of the people filled the room. He looks at the cross. He thinks to himself the nature of the Catholic Faith.

After the Chapel, he goes to the Dean and asks why he has to go the chapel. He explains his uncomfortable nature being such a place. He further explains that entering a building with the cross is a violation of his faith.

He tells the Dean, Mr Z, can I talk to you? He continues to talk until finally he gets to his point. “ I believe that I should be exempted from attending Chapel. I believe it brings no benefit.” The Dean Shrugs its and replies,, “You’ll be fine. You are looking into this more than it should be.” He tells himself this yet there is a lingering feeling that his faith is till being rejected.

Several Week Passes. Abou Tarek takes a Bible Reading and Analysis Class. He is in the classroom. It is filled with Paraphernalia pertaining to Catholicism. There are some student art and some posters attached to the walls and lying on the floor. The Class begins and teacher makes them read the Bible. After the class, some kids are in a circle and discuss what they have learned.

One of the kids say, “I find this class useless and it is really stupid.” He sees Tarek and calls him over. He then open a conversation by asking, ‘how do you feel about this class?” Tarek replied with a shrug and says, “eh,” showing his indifference towards the subject. The discussion becomes more heated They argue and it did not seem that they had a meaningful conclusion.

Several months, he goes to attend another Class but this is a comparative religion with respect to terrorism (terrorism class). The teacher arrives and lets them inside the classroom. They mingle and the teacher introduces the class.

He and his friends talk amongst themselves. They believe that this is going to be an interesting class. Looking in depth at the nature of Terrorism, it is definitely going to be profound experience for the students. Several weeks into the class, they get into the Islam chapter. They discuss as to why the Islamic extremists are so prevalent and why some people believe that all of Islam will eventually end in this direction. They also discuss the nature of 911 (The various videos itself contains many pundits and scholars who oppose Islam). This creates tension between the students.
