I've actually seen a bit of machinima before, but for the most part the machinima I've seen wasn't really focused on creating a cinematic feel, instead being more concerned with being funny. Computer girl was probably the first machinima I had seen that actually was trying to emulate TV and film. I was impressed at how effective the cinematography can be at conveying emotions, even with extremely rudimentary emotions and models of Second Life. One notable machinima I watched was Vae Victus. I thought it was interesting how they tried to make the game camera seem like a real-life camera. They made the camera shaky, and gave the camera a very noticeable depth of field, which is usually absent in games. Also they did lots of snap zoom effects, and playing with the focus, which made the camera seem real.
The screenplay I looked up was Blade Runner. I think the opening scene with the interrogation really makes good use of camera angles and cuts to introduce the scene and the characters. I think the whole movie does a really good job of establishing the large variety of scenes.
