My comic was inspired by the similarities between the excessive use of force by the DHS in Little Brother and the similar situation at UC Berkley involving Lt. John Pike. Pike unnecessarily used pepper spray on a group of seated, non-violent student protesters, much like the DHS did on the "Don't Trust .." crowd in the book.
