Ryan's outline

Scene 1

Four people are in a dark, dirty room, a single lamp hangs from the ceiling, barely illuminating the room. SHL yells at marcus, demanding the code to his phone. He constantly denies her, after a while he says “I just want to leave.” A scared yet happy look comes about SVL’s face.

Flashback to a house in downtown SF, looks to be mid 90’s by cars on street. A man and beautiful woman sit at a table, arguing about something. The man accuses her of taking work too seriously and not caring about him enough. She says she cares just enough and yells at him that he has no clue what she is going through. He looks sad. He says “fine Jessica, I’m taking Angela, I just want to leave.” A small girl, about 5, stands in the doorway, crying. Scene Cuts

Scene 2

Next day, marcus goes back to the interrogation room, this time, things are different this time. SHL smiles at marcus and tells the two guards to leave the room. SHL takes out the recording vice and turns it off. She says calls him by a different name and proceeds to act like they’ve known each other for years. She begins to tell him that he needs to escape. She acts like he’s her husband, she tells him it’s okay and that she’s learned that the job has taken over her life, she hates the job and the DHS.

Flashback to the same house as earlier, this time a day later. A beautiful woman is crying as she walks into her kitchen. A note is in her hand. The note explains how her husband has left and he took their daughter with him. The woman looks devastated. She runs to the bathroom and cuts off her bangs, leaving just a blade of hair severely sweeping across her face.

Scene 3

Marcus is in his cell, just having visited SHL. He thinks about whether or not it was a trick. He falls into a deep sleep, only to be awakened 3 hours later in the middle of the night by SHL. This time she plans to tell him how to escape. She goes into great detail about the escape and how she will help. He still isn’t sure whether or not to believe her.

Flashback to the beautiful woman, she is about 5 years older, and holding the mail at the kitchen table. She sees a letter from an unknown person. She opens it to see a picture of a girl, about 10 years old standing in a flower patch, smiling. On the back it reads “we really made something beautiful” she begins to cry and falls down onto the floor.

Scene 4

Marcus awakes suddenly in the middle of the night. He sees that his cell door is open, and all the guards from his hall are gone. He follows the halls until he gets to the courtyard door, facing the ocean. He looks around then sprints to a boulder sitting on the beach. There he is astonished to see his friends, all sitting waiting. He is informed that SHL had helped them escape, but she was shot in the process. The guards grabbed her and took her with them. There is a small boat sitting on the shore, they all get into it and drive off into the darkness.

Flashback to the beautiful woman sitting in an expensive-looking home office. A fireplace roars in the background. She looks at a large desk chair facing away from her. A deep voice says that he knows what she’s going through but her priority is to her country, not her family. She acknowledges and agrees not to get the two intertwined. The voice says good, now you can go. To which she says “yes father”

Scene 5

Marcus wakes up in his own bed, next to his friends. They inform him that he blacked out during the escape and that they were able to get him home safely. He sits up and thinks to himself about what the woman had done for him. He realizes that she is probably dead by now. A feeling of guilt overcomes him as his friends celebrate on escaping from the DHS.

Scene flashes to Ange sitting on a couch watching tv. She looks up as a man enters the room. The man is the same man that was married to the beautiful woman from before. Scene fades and mysterious music plays.
