Spencer's Screenplay Outline

Outline

Following everything that happened with the DHS in San Francisco, Marcus resumes his normal life. He goes back to school and even starts playing Harajuku Fun Madness again. The one major thing that has changed for him though is his relationship with Ange. Following all the madness with the DHS that brought them together, Marcus is now trying to grow accustomed to their relationship without the danger of fighting the DHS as the thing that they relate over.

Scene One

Opens with Marcus and Ange lying in a field in the middle of Golden Gate Park

For a while they just lay there enjoying the beautiful day until Ange says that her mom wants her to come home. Marcus says he will walk her to the bus stop before heading home himself and says that he will Skype her later. As they are walking to the bus stop Ange asks if he can just come over. Marcus makes a non-committal reply as Ange boards the bus.

Scene Two

Over the shoulder shot of Marcus on his computer

He pulls out his phone and makes a call. He greets Ange and starts to ask her what is going on but then hears a dial tone. He calls back angrily asking why she hung up on him and she asks why he didn’t come over earlier when she asked him to. Marcus asks her what the difference is between that and talking on the phone or Skyping and Ange hangs up on him again.

Scene Three

Marcus walks through the door and Ange greets him coldly. Marcus immediately begins apologizing to her for not coming over earlier. He says he knows that there is a difference between technological contact and talking face to face and that he will work harder to be with her more often. Ange accepts his apology and admits that maybe she was a little hard on him. The two kiss and walk upstairs.

Scene Four

Ange is sitting at a table as Marcus hurriedly walks in, excitedly call her name. Ange asks what’s going on and Marcus says that they have work to do. Marcus starts to walk away but Ange calls him back and tells him that he needs to tell her what he is talking about. Marcus tells her that the State Legislatures are about to pass a law that would make it illegal for anyone under 21 to buy Mature rated video games. Ange looks confused and asks what that has to do with anything. Marcus starts talking again about how they have no right to do that and there is no way he is going to let them. Ange looks stunned and asks what he is planning on doing. Marcus reveals his plan to use the Xnet to bring down the servers of the state government to send a message and realize that they can’t mess with our freedoms. Marcus states that if they were able to bring down the DHS they can do this to. Ange starts yelling at Marcus asking if he is crazy. Why would he want to put himself back in harm’s way just months after everything that happened with the DHS? Marcus coldly asks if she supports him or not. Ange says of course she supports him but not this stupid plan of his. Marcus says fine then and walks out.

Scene Five

Marcus is furiously typing on his computer as Ange walks in his room. Marcus asks if she changed her mind but she says no. She asks him why he is doing this and Marcus goes on about how much good he was able to do before and how he doesn’t want to stop just because the DHS is gone. He says he wanted to do it together with her. Ange asks why he can’t just be content with the way things are. Marcus says he isn’t and says he wants to break up. If Ange can’t support him then he doesn’t want to be her boyfriend anymore. Ange says nothing and walks out.

Scene Six

Ange is sitting on her bed when she gets a phone call. She answers it and it is Marcus. Marcus sounds really out of breath and she can hear sirens in the background. She asks what happened and Marcus says that he went ahead with his plan and almost got caught, except he saw the cop cars pulling up to his house and jumped out his window and ran away. He says that he wants to go south like the plan before and resume his plan there. He says that the government can’t stop him and that he will continue to fight against injustice. Ange starts to say something when she hears sirens over the phone. Marcus says they are closing in on him and that he needs to leave now. He asks if she is in or out. Ange hangs up the phone.

Scene Seven

Ange is watching TV when a news report comes on saying that Marcus Yallow, famous for his role in the DHS incident, has been arrested on charges for hacking and evasion of arrest. Ange turns off the TV.
