Character 1- Eve (16). Eve attends St Helens Catholic school for girls, and was raised a Catholic by two very devout catholic parents. She stayed away from the pressures of religion as her parents forced her to attend multiple services each week and she could not handle the pressure. Recently Eve met a boy Marcus at a coffee shop in the city, it was “love at first sight” and they were always together. Eve discovered she was pregnant and is not planning on telling her family; instead she is going to abort the baby.

Character 2- Marcus (18). Marcus is an older boy who was raised by two extreme hippys in Oregon. He dropped out of public school and discovered his passion for hitchhiking. Upon meeting Eve at a local coffee shop, Marcus fell in love. His love is being tested when he discovers that Eve is pregnant.

Plot: It is understood that Eve and her parents Mary and Daniel are all devout Catholics living in a suburb of Bend, Oregon. Eve never thought of herself as a Catholic, but instead as just a follower of the book. Her parents force her to attend services on Mondays as well as Wednesday mass and Saturday youth group. Her attendance in St. Helens all girls private school has always disturbed Eve’s thoughts about her parents and has resisted their religious practice. Eve recently met a boy Marcus, who is older and droped out of public school to “find his passion”. Eve’s parents dislike Marcus and are concerned with her interest in him. When Eve discovered that she was preganant, she was extremely weary to tell her parents. Instead, she thought that it would put less stress on her parents and instead of telling them she would just abort the child. Eve’s mother however, discovered the positive pregnancy test and was quick to call out her daughter. Eve confessed to her parents and told them the plan, however they were extremely unsupportive of her decision. Throughout the picture, Eve must try and win the battle against her parents and convince them to be on her side.

Scene 1: Raging house party, basement. Eve and Marcus are dancing along with hundreds of kids from Oregon.

Eve
Marcus, let’s get out of here.
My parents aren’t home this weekend you know

MARCUS
If you’re sure Eve-y, you know I’m down

Scene 2: Three weeks earlier. Walking around the city

MARCUS
Excuse me miss, you’re gorgeous.

EVE
No, I’m Eve. But thanks for the compliment.

MARCUS
Can I take you out sometime? I know all the best
places to get food around here. I’ll show you
a great time!

EVE
I usually would have to say no, but I suppose I can
give you the benefit of the doubt.

MARCUS
I promise it’ll be worth it. Here, lets meet tomorrow
around 6? Right here.

EVE
(laughs) I’ll be here then

MARCUS
I can’t wait Eve

EVE
Oh, I never caught your name?

MARCUS
(laughs) This is so embarrassing! Let’s start over.
Hi, I’m Marcus

EVE
Marcus? It’s nice to meet you, I’m Eve.

MARCUS
No, you’re gorgeous.

Scene 3: Flash through images of Eve and Marcus getting to know each other, ending at the last clip seen from the raging party in scene 1.

Scene 4: Eve on one half of the screen obviously upset, talking to Marcus on the other line(other half)

EVE
I need to talk to you

MARCUS
Baby, what’s wrong?

EVE
Marcus, *crying* I *crying* I…I’m pregnant

MARCUS
…

EVE
I know.

MARCUS
What, what are we gonna do?

EVE
I can’t have a baby Marcus, I can’t

MARCUS
well, your parents are not going to be okay with this

EVE
*yelling* You don’t think I’ve thought about this?

MARCUS
Woah, baby calm down. We’ll figure this out.

EVE
I want an abortion

MARCUS
You, what?

EVE
I want to get an abortion.

MARCUS
Eve-y… Think about what your mom will think

EVE
*yelling* I can’t tell my mother Marcus!

MARCUS
Okay baby, okay. I support you, you know that

EVE
Thank you *crying* this is just not what I wanted
right now.. not that anyone wants this.

MARCUS
It’ll all work out Eve-y, it will.

Scene 5: Eve’s kitchen, Mary is upset.

Mary
Eve. What in the lords name is this?

EVE
That, that is a pregnancy test…

MARY
Why on earth is there a positive pregnancy test in
your bathroom?

EVE
Mom, I….I…I’m pregnant.

MARY
*busts out crying*

EVE
Mom, it’s okay, please, please don’t cry…

MARY
*yelling* This is not okay Eve, what are you going
to do with a child? You’re 16!

EVE
I’m not having the baby.

MARY
*silent*
No, you’re definitely having the baby.

EVE
No mom, I’m not. I can’t have a baby. I’m 16.

MARY
You’re the one who fucked around with this boy, Eve.

EVE
*yelling and crying* He is not just a boy mom, I love him

MARY
You do not love him Eve, you are 16 you don’t know what
love is.

EVE
I do love him, and unlike you he is supporting me in getting
an abortion.

MARY
Absolutely not Eve. You got yourself into this; you are
living with the consequences.

Scene 6: Daniel and Mary are having a sit down talk with Marcus and Eve; Living room

DANIEL
I just don’t think it’s a very good idea for you to do this

EVE
Dad. I want to go to college, have a job, raise a family when
I’m ready, Not now. I’m not ready to be a parent.

MARY
Eve, you have to live with all of the choices you make
This is one of them.

EVE
I understand that mom, but I can’t do what I want to in life
and have a baby to worry about. I want to go places
with my life. I know that me having sex is irresponsible,
but I know what is best for me and a baby is not.
