My Pitch

My story will be presented in a series of video blogs of a teenager. As the teen talks in the video blog, the machinima will show what the teen is talking about. The premise of the story is of a teen’s attempt to escape the country after witnessing government officials planting the bombs that blew up the bay bridge. Worried that his story will be drowned out, the teen updates his story as he is on the run through a secret video blog.

The government worked to blow up the bridge to inspire fear in the citizens and give them an excuse to institute the surveillance technology into the city and monitor the public. John and his friends were coming back from Oakland to San Francisco after a long night at a party. John was stuck with designated driving that night and they were coming over the Bay Bridge in the wee hours of the morning. While they were driving they passed a construction zone that seemed to be inactive. His friend, Carl, yells that he needs to get out to throw up because he drank too much and John reluctantly pulls over suggesting that there might be a Port-O-Potty in the construction site. John waits at the car while Carl runs in only to hear a yell from his friend. The next thing he knows, Carl is running towards him yelling “Bombs!, Bombs!, Bombs! Run man they are planting bombs!” Next thing he knows Carl is getting tackled by a man dressed in Army gear and John is hitting the gas.

With the head start John manages to get a head start and get off the bridge before he sees a number of black cars in his rearview mirror. Knowing he can’t outrun them, he pulls a quick turn and jumps out of the car and runs down an alley. He manages to get away and spends the night hiding, not wanting to reveal himself, not sure what he should do. The next morning he hears of the bombing of the bay bridge and he realizes that he needs to reveal his story. But he has no proof. His only option is to save himself and get out of the country. This is the story of that mission.
